Simon Glascott returns to Gallery 109 in March 2025 after his sell out show in 2023. This exhibition is a series of paintings capturing the interplay of light and water on the coastal and river fringes they depict. Simon has adopted an expressionist approach with heightened colour, emphasising the vibrancy of the impression made by the interaction at the fringe which attracts us to the river and sea.

The cliff scenes depict the porcellanite cliffs around the Northern Territory’s coastal fringe on the Arafura Sea acknowledging the Larrakia country in which they were witnessed and drafted.
