ROGER NEVILLE – SCULPTOR

Sculptor, artist, builder, furniture maker, restorer of federation homes and terraces, lover of all things eclectic and beautiful.

Roger Neville was Griffith born on a citrus farm in NSW, the youngest of four robust boys.  The bush has always been a yearning point of his life.

The Neville family moved to Cronulla in the early years of Roger’s life.  The ocean became his new inspiration, surfing became a huge passion, and remains that way.  Surf trips and the hunt of waves took Roger back to the bush tracks and the discovery of beautiful timber, this became the birth of his artistic passion.

During his 20’s, Roger also spent many years in the snowy region of NSW as an enthusiastic skier, where the twisted movement of the alpine gums awakened his passionate artistic mind and his love of bringing nature into the realm of everyday life. Many pieces of Roger’s beautiful and distinctive creations are still vibrantly displayed throughout the townships of Jindabyne and Thredbo.

Roger has been commissioned by many to create individual and unique pieces, whether they be functional pieces of furniture or the subtle abstract nature of his art.

Recently, now that his children have grown, Roger has found more time to focus on his artistic passions.  His mind is now playing with other mediums such as metal, glass and clay, opening up limitless creative opportunities.

In this Gallery 109 Manly Window exhibition Roger has 3 timber sculptures on display which beautifully demonstrate his creativity and skills with wood. Prices range from $1,300 to $2,500
