RENAY SMITH is an artist with a studio in Sydney NSW. Her early career as a Graphic Designer evolved into painting and printmaking. In recent years, her creative practice has encompassed a love of Australian landscapes that consider the near and far and still life that contemplates and commemorates everyday objects and collective memories from the recent past.

She works mainly in acrylic on canvas, manipulating her mediums to give a rich and lush texture to her surfaces. Linocut relief printmaking, with strong graphic elements of landscape and idiosyncratic images represented in monochrome and mixed media work is her other creative focus. Renay enjoys the challenges of printing by hand. Renay Smith’s work has appeared in group exhibitions across NSW and her paintings and prints, both exhibited works and commissioned pieces are with local and interstate collectors. Her influences include Fauvism, Japanese printmaking and traditional Chinese art.
