METAL + STONE – EVERLASTING TREASURES FROM THE EARTH

You are invited to an Exhibition by Ken Fraser featuring some 19 works crafted in stone, bronze and various other media. Now based in the Northern beaches of Sydney, Australia he brings together a collection built up over the last decade.

“Living in Europe amid the very extensive displays of art inspired my journey into the forming of stone, clay and bronze.

Once having viewed the spectacular marble sculpture of Psyche and Cupid by Antonio Canova in the Louvre in Paris and then the bronze work of Auguste Rodin he became determined to learn more of how such beauty could be achieved. He travelled to Italy to take instruction from master sculptors in carrara marble

Modelling figurative works at Sydney Sculpting School led to the production of some works in bronze which he continued to pursue as a student at Australian Bronze Foundry at North Head in Sydney.

Some works have also been produced in resin, polymer modified gypsum and Hebel. He still finds marble to be the most satisfying material to work with.
